I had a thought that it may be a good idea to have a general feedback thread so that a member does not feel like they must create a new thread for every suggestion they may have.

Yay or nay?

Ugh . . .

Would this thread made more sense if a member with a higher rank would have created it? Probably. Anyway, I thought it might be a good idea to have a comprehensive feedback thread.

About those "Like This" buttons, what about the addition of a "Dislike This" / thumbs down button?

Ugh . . .

Sorry, I didn't have time to respond yesterday. The separate threads is more for ease of use on my end. It helps me better keep up with what's suggested, and go back to it if I do decide to implement something.

I could change the like system to a karma system, but I find it best to spare peoples feelings and just keep it to likes only.

You don't really need a 'dislike' button any way. If you have a problem with what someone's said, say it to their face and give an actual reason. A 'dislike button' just seems such a half arsed excuse to be a dick to people.

e: that wasn't aimed at you by the way, Spleen. I'm just speaking generally. =)

It'd be better to just implement a rep system, if that were the case >.>

I agree with that statement.

Overall, though, I don't think NF is a good home for a rep system. I could probably recite all the names of users that have been online in the past month and have a post count > 50.

Rep systems are nice where there's a right/wrong answer (something like stackoverflow) or you have a community large enough that there's frequent users who you have never heard of but with smaller communities I'd much rather keep the reputation system in my head.

Plus people just end up gauging their posts based on how much rep they can get. I won't post because I wont get rep, waaa.

I never bought into the karma system. I was just curious about whether or not a dislike button would be added because fo the like button. Is the like button there because of facebook or something?

Oh yeah, people don't usually back up why they like something. The only service a like button adds is keeping from several member replies stating"I agree" in a row, but at the same time cutting down on non-contributive posts.

Sorry, SpleenBeGone, I thought this would be a just as helpful thread being that it would be all inclusive.

Ugh . . .

idk if its integrated into facebook (tbh I'd almost rather it not be) but there's times where I'll thoroughly enjoy someones post but not really have a reply to it.

Circumference, dear lad, circumference.

I want anyone back there to get a pleasant surprise when these cheeks part.
