Get This Forum FAMOUS!

We also need to make this forum where it can attract members, persuade the members to join, and retain those members.
I believe that the forum should at least develop a niche; a generic forum will do no good.
With that being said, it will require baby steps, patience, and time.
I guess you're wondering why I care so much about it. Well, I'm actually quite excited to have a new forum to go to. I've gotten bored with the other forums and their members (A lot of those forums have already hit their peak and are now down sliding like a diarrhea mudslide.).
So, I would like to contribute as much as possible, especially in the begginning stages of this forum.
@Admin: Please, please do not shutdown this forum unless you absolutely have to! I've been participating in forums since 2003 and I've come across too many forums that had potential but the administrator would shut the forum down because they became impatient and gave up because the forum didn't grow quick enough to their liking.
Thank you.

First of all, it's in the sig of every other forum I go to. It'd help if everyone did the same, as well as the website field, if they have one. Even if you don't post on the forum anymore, this will still give backlinks and help google rate us higher.
Tell everyone that you know, use facebook, twitter, google+, etc. Make sure everyone knows about it.
Every time I answer a question on yahoo answers, I post a link here as the source.
Well thought out, meaningful topics are great for attracting members. If written well, these will show up high on google, and interest people enough to read them and want to join.
I'm aware it will take time to start up, and have no intention of shutting it down, as long as there is hope for an active community.

I have my fair share of well though out and meaningful topics to post. I just haven't gotten started on them yet.
Anyhow, if nothing happens within a year or two with this forum, would you shut it down then?

I don't foresee that happening though.

One thing you should be aware of is, the spambots will come. I saw two forums get overrun with spambots yet (have been mod there) and I know how annoying it can be to erase the fifteenth random "Get Viagra for free!" thread in one day. >_>
Oh yes! The spambots! But, a lot of that falls on the owner of the forum himself. There's another website I visit regularly which is pretty darn active, but their forum section of their site is overran with spambots. It's like a darn spambot orgy! But, the owner could clear them out and put in preventive measures when it comes to the spambots though. But, he doesn't, so I guess he could careless.
Off-Topic:
I have seemed to used the word "but" a lot in this post of mines at the beginning of the sentences. Not good grammar at all! >.<
