From http://www.ifc.com/f...y-of-darkness-2

"On March 10, Sony Pictures announced two new movies: a sequel to the upcoming reboot “Evil Dead” and another sequel relating to the original trilogy, unofficially known as “Evil Dead 4.” Sam Raimi will be involved in both films, producing the former and directing and co-writing the latter."

Also, more awesomer

'Bruce Campbell, who will reprise his role of Ash in “Army of Darkness 2"'

Hail to the king, baby.

The English language does not have words do describe the level of excitement, and apprehension that I am feeling right now.

but wait, they rebooted it AND are continuing the original series? won't that be a bit confusing to non-hardcores or people in the know?

...are continuing the original series...

This is the only part I care about.

The people who go see horror movies regularly will go to both anyway. Those that notice the link might look it up and watch the originals, the lucky so and sos. It's a win-win either way. The hardcores will know the difference, Bruce Campbell's name popping up will be a giant billboard covered in flashing lights that says, 'Hey, primitive screwheads, lookie over here.'

I will say, I'm sure the movies will be fine, but even in a stinker, Campbell can make it great. The man is blessed.

Agreed.

And I like how you disliked it so much you came back almost two months after your last post to say so.

It really was a let down.

My woman is a big fan of the originals, and about half way through this remake she had her laptop out and wasn't even watching it anymore.

Lol, right? A full 40% of his total posts are in this very topic.

On a related note, I still have not seen the movie. Not hearing any reasons to, either.

It is one of those remakes that just misses the mark by so much you don't even know what the hell is going on.

If you ever watch it just pretend it isn't Evil Dead related in any way and it will just be a gory movie with no purpose.

Kind of like the sequel to Blues Brothers? Also, the best b horror movies often have the plot of which you speak. Blood and zombies and tits for no reason.

Awesome!!, "Give me some sugar baby!"

I enjoyed the remake actually, its far far away from the first one, but it was still pretty watchable.

Hey, lookie here. I was just thinkin' about an Evil Dead topic, and turns out I made one!

Looking through Tv Tropes for inspiration for a horror story when I came across Evil Dead from Splatterhouse. "Hey," I thought to myself, "I wonder if anything ever came from that last movie?" So I highlighted the text, right clicked a Google search, and hit the news tab.

I love me some Campbell. Oh, what the hell. I'll break my own rules and use an emoticon or two. :) :)

There. I used two smiley faces. Now you know how happy this makes me. Stoic Russian excitement.

"Because I always run into all my horror buddies at conventions. It would be fun to do a movie that pretty much has all of them in it."

What did you guys think of the Ash vs the Evil Dead trailer?

"Ironic, isn't it, Smithers. This anonymous clan of slack-jawed troglodytes has cost me the election, and yet if I were to have them killed, I would be the one to go to jail. That's democracy for you."
