I just saw the game on steam today it comes out this month on the 26th. I was wondering if Bioshock games are good? I just remember seeing Big Daddy in the All-Stars PS3 fighting game. Is it worth buying and playing, or should I just settle with buying the new Sim City? Can someone explain what most of the game is about and what goes on through most of the other bioshock games if anyone plays them?

The first Bioshock is pretty damn good, especially for its time.
The second is widely renown as a cheap cash grab instead of a good game, but it is still worth a playthrough.
It is perfectly acceptable to fear and admire a being you could not possibly understand.

The second Bioshock was very different than the first. Still a solid game, it was more swiftly paced and combat was less frustrating. The storyline wasn't as good as the first though.

I pre-ordered for 360 cause at the time I didn't have a computer. I can't wait for it to come out. I just wish I had the money to buy it. >.< I got the special edition pre-ordered. I love Bioshock. It's a fun game.

Seeing the two bioshock game threads made me realize I've never played it.
As a PC gamer, should I play the first ones before I give this one a try?

It would make it alot more fun
plus Bioshock still looks nice, even by todays standards, so it's worth a play

it's worth playing the first two (even though the second gets a bad rep, still fun. combat got a tune up for it). they mean nothing in the grand scheme of infinite (ken said they were separate time lines, plus infinite is set about forty to fifty years ahead of bioshock), but they are good games and written very well.

plus its prolly like 10 bucks at this point, and they arent terribly long games. make it happen
First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out-- Because I was not a Socialist.
Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out-- Because I was not a Trade Unionist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out-- Because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me-- and there was no one left to speak for me.

Also, as a double post.
Why is this game so fuckin' beautiful?! I swear. It's terribly beautiful. Even on my low settings. I'm like, HOLY JESUS PANTS! (pronounced hey-zeus)

This gave me a chuckle. But to be honest, I agree. But this bit really got me.
The first major choice that players of BioShock Infinite are presented with is whether they would like to publicly punish an interracial couple or not. You may choose to throw a ball at the couple, who are tied up in front of a crowd at a fair, or you may choose to throw the ball at the man who is asking you to do so. The outcome of your choice is mostly the same.
Let’s think about that for a moment. BioShock Infinite, the game that many would hope to point to as an example of how art and subtlety might be found in expensive, mainstream videogames, sets up its moral stakes by asking the player if they would like to be a violent bigot.
These are the complex and difficult decisions found in videogames in 2013: would you like to be in the Ku Kux Klan or would you like to be Abraham Lincoln? Would you like to join the Nazi party or found the United Nations? Would you like to be for or against?
Do you see the nuance here? Do you see the art?
This is thunderously stupid, and an insipid example of how terrifyingly low the bar is set for ‘intelligence’ in mainstream videogames (not to mention surprisingly accommodating given the widely-publicised problems with racism in online shooters).
“We are trying to pose these questions and let the player decide how they feel,” said BioShock Infinite’s design director Bill Gardner an interview before the game’s release. On the ‘question’ of violent public humiliation of an interracial couple, BioShock Infinite wants to let the player ‘decide how they feel’.

Game was decent, but overhyped. No amazing mechanics, nothing spectacular. Story was decent. Graphics were great. Forgettable engagements and characters.
They made it seem like it would be an amazing game that lets you zip around and fly on tracks while using powers on badguys. It was all hype. The commercials make it look better than it was. The added equip options didn't do anything to change the game. I prefer Bioshock.
