GATE is bae, I've rewatched it countless times. I'm hoping for another season, as there's quite a lot more to the story than the end of the anime would suggest.

All I know of that one is it's full of propaganda of glorious Nippon banzi! Isn't there a light novel for that one? I usually pick them up after a show ends and I'm sure it wont get a new season.

Just watched first season of magical index. Ten years late.

Magical cafe whatever is comfy. Aho girl is giggly stupid. Slut something is decent but the dude is a pussy and the slut isn't a slut. Wtf Japan?

There is a light novel, yes. And it's not exactly propaganda; I mean, no more than something like Upotte!! is.

I have no clue of it's propaganda or not, that's just the only thing I know about it.

And I've never heard of Uppote! but a casual google search suggests I really REALLY should watch it.

And, and I remember the anime in your sig, the dog-loving cutting scissor lady. I feel that personifies you with less dere part of the tsundere

Definitely give Castlevania on Netflix a look.  First season was only 4 episodes but all of them were written by the great Warren Ellis.

I'm watching Yu-Gi-Oh! VRAINS for the most part. It's actually good in terms of quality, and does a pretty good job at explaining game mechanics for new players (unlike the previous series, Arc-V, in which the main character literally invents new cards mid-duel).

Also been watching Knight's and Magic (yes, the apostrophe is legit for some reason). Good premise. An otaku with a penchant for not!Gundams dies and is reborn in a fantasy world where giant robots exist. Using his skills from the old world (computer programming) he manages to invent new robots for some reason. Apparently magic and coding are the same? idk. Good animation though, and giant robots kicking the shit out of each other is never bad.

That sounds like the most weaboo premise ever. And that apostrophe bothers the piss out of me.

I've just finished the most genius story I've seen, danganronpa. The reason why I didn't say anime is because you watch an anime, then play 2 detective visual novel like games, then play an action game, then watch 2 animes but you do it by watching one episode of one then one episode of the other, finishing with an anime consisting of only one episode and to add on that there's an OVA. The timeline is smacked around but it feels perfect.

There's more to this though, like visual novels, another game and more stuff that I've yet to go through.

Though, it's all worth it. I need more, if you enjoy intelligent shows this one is for you. The games are sometimes slow though but it's worth it. I like outsmarting the show and predicting what's going to happen. I succeed 85% of my predictions, though in danganronpa you make a million predictions. The danganronpa 3 pulls 3 plot twists every single episode that completely make sense but you didn't figure them out. I remember a moment when I was watching with a friend where I paused the shot and told him: "We predicted most shows/games and everything 20 hours before the ending twists happen. Lets think logically and think what can happen in this moment that makes sense." We came up with 6 possible combinations that are not bullshit and then danganronpa is like HUEHUEHHUEH here's a plot twist that completely makes sense and turns the entire thing around!

Fuck man, that was a great show. The day I was watching it I got shivers a thousand times, I'm getting them now just thinking about it.

I started watching some weird shit lately. I searched up 'CONTROVERSIAL ANIME' and came across a few.....

I remember someone mentioning boku no pico in one of my old threads (that I can't find anymore) and I actually started watching the 1st ep....... yeah, I gotta admit that I get into some pretty freaky shit.... but this..... this one..... not a good freaky weird...... It's some weird kiddie porn cross dressing shit...... I didn't finish it...... It's actually pretty gross. I need some prayers now.

Secondly I started watching Kokomo no jikan. It's about a student who is in love with her teacher. I remember this anime a few years ago because it was a meme where it showed a clip of someone watching this, then it cuts to the FBI breaking down a door. lol. Yeah it's a weird concept, I actually managed to make it through a few episodes.

I'm guna start watching chika gentou gekiga shoujo tsubaki shortly. I hear it's pretty disturbing.

Watching Seishun Buta Yarou wa Bunny Girl Senpai no Yume wo Minai and i think It’s an amazing show. That’s the simple way to say it but the complicated way is explaining it from my perspective. To be fair, I think this anime gets judged based on a lot of facts before it even aired. Like for instance, the brainchild behind the light novels is the same person that made Sakurasou no Pet na Kanojo. (The Pet girl of Sakurasou) Anyone who has seen that anime may think what to expect from this show. But I think a bit differently. Hajime Kamoshida helmed the storytelling for both series but there’s quite a bit of differences. I don’t want to talk too much about comparison because the fact is, Bunny Girl Senpai pretty much stand out a lot on its own feet.

I've picked up a bunch of shows this season; potentially the most I've ever followed in one quarter.

Girly Air Force - It's like Darling in the FranXX had sex with Arpeggio of Blue Steel, and the end result was this. Genetically-modified fighter planes piloted by biologically enhanced dolls named Daughters, in order to fight off an alien menace. The girls all have actually unique and interesting traits to them, and the combat scenes are amazing. The very first one had me pumped up and ready to blow shit to pieces. Also made me want to buy Ace Combat 7. Payday soon, so perhaps.

The Magnificent KOTOBUKI - There's a trend going on here. Cute girls flying planes, except this time they're old-timey fighters instead of new-age jets. The animation is a little wonky to me, mostly because they use CGI as opposed to typical drawn-frame animation, but it's something I've been able to look past. Combat is a little boring, but that's mostly because they're sticking more with traditional, realistic maneuvers as opposed to 'lol my jet does backflips on command because fuck you'. Unfortunately the level of exposition leaves a lot to be desired--I've got a lot of questions and very few answers. Gonna stick with it though.

Kaguya-sama: Love Is War - I wasn't actually expecting much from this initially, since my tastes typically don't include romantic comedies. I enjoyed Haganai, but outside of that I usually lean more towards more action-packed shows, as the former two I've mentioned probably show. However, Kaguya-sama has this way of grabbing me, I was hooked pretty much from the very beginning. Kaguya is in love with the student council president, and as the vice-president she's around him a lot. On the flipside, the president is also in love with Kaguya. But neither one is willing to admit it, so they've turned it into a game. I'll make them confess to me. Each episode follows 3-4 mini-stories, and they're all narrated by possibly one of my favourite voice actors, Yutaka Aoyama.

That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime - Ok so lemme put this out there. I love isekais. The whole idea of being transported to an entirely different world has just the right mix of mystery and intrigue that really gets my motor running. Whether it's being sucked into a videogame a la Sword Art Online or Log Horizon, to going completely to another world like Re: Zero, KonoSuba, or GATE. Slime changes the formula by turning everything on its head; the main character doesn't become a heroic youth with a strong will and legendary title. He becomes, as the show's title implies, a slime. A low-tier trash mob with nothing to work with but intelligence and a unique set of skills. I'm a fair way into it, but I had to pause for a while due to a certain event that wounded my heart. Any show that can make me cry has to be good, right?

Once I've cleared my backlog somewhat I'm also going to check out SSSS. Gridman too.

It's definitely worth a watch. The first episode is a little dull, since it's primarily setting up and expositing, but once you get past that it's all action, and a bit of politics.
