I was very against underage drinking and drugs when I was your age. It's funny what two years and a little life experience can do to change values you thought you held close.I have no urge to drink alcohol, though. Even if I wanted to, I'm too much of a goody-goody to break the law like that.

Drinking is like any other responsibility.
So long as you don't act like a total ass and be irresponsible with it, you are fine.
The Portuguese folk in my area give their kids wine as soon as they can hold their own cup, and those kids tend to be the more responsible drinkers out of the lot.
If it isn't a big taboo all your life, you don't act like it is a whole new world when you are old enough to go to parties and drink alcohol.
It is perfectly acceptable to fear and admire a being you could not possibly understand.

It's how you learn though. I learnt that passing out from drinking is bad, smoking is pretty detrimental and weed can make you sick. Now I do all in moderation...well...I quit smoking, and I haven't touched weed this year...but still.
