I don't get it. Is it like a story teller website of some sort?

Not sure what it is, and I'll check in-detail later, but it appears to be something along those lines from a quick scan-through.

It's a type of education software for children, I guess?

Scratch can be used to make videos and games with a simplistic language that's intended to have children be able to understand it. I was in an AP programming course in high school (it was like 3 kids, it was basically a self taught class) and the teacher asked us to learn and review the MIT pre-cursor to this (I can't for the life of me remember what it's called).

It's pretty neat - very high level (obviously if they want kids to understand) and if you're just trying to understand how writing software kind of works its a good start.

"when something is clicked" is the event.  the event is 'when' it is clicked.

when something = a,

is clicked =b;

if(a=B) {

  something is clicked

}

that is a condition.  if you want to know when.... then "when something is clicked", display time and date.

I worked with Scratch last summer; it was lots of fun.

In a few days, I am going to be helping my university's IT Club with an event where we'll be teaching the basics of the logic behind programming to people with little to no experience in programming. We are going to use scratch to teach them.
