I have seen a lot of different Anime but the ones that get me roped in the most are Dark and Multi-Layered.

This is what I have seen so far.

to aru majutsu no index (A certain magical index)
to aru kagaku no railgun (A certain scientific railgun)
deathnote
higurashi no naku koro ni (when they cry)
Durarara!!!
Baccano!
Darker Than Black
togainu no chi
planetes
Stein's Gate
Ghost in the Shell
Haibane Renmai
Elfen Lied
Serial Experiments Lain
Cowboy Beebop
Paranoia Agent

Ive seen many more but these are my favourites and if anyone knows of anime similar to these then please let me know!

Or if you are interested in one of these and want to know if its your style lemme know and ill try and give you a non spoiler review.

If you liked paranoia agent, I would recommend the other films by the same guy. Perfect blue is one of them, Tokyo grandfathers, and there was was one about dreams, I don't remember which one that was.

School days is good too, give it a few episodes and you will probably like it, especially if you enjoyed higurashi.

I loved higurashi. Its one of those shows that you really have to think about what's going on, they didn't tell you right out. And the second season really pulled it together for me.

the entire first season was just a WTF, but you only got it towards the end with the deja vu moments, then the second season comes on and it says "this is how this shit works".

Mind gets blown away!
