I've played it a bit. First game didn't start well, I learned not to double tap D. >.>

Got better though. I think I've won more than I've lost.

A guy I work with got saltier than hell when I called rotating game mode "Heroes of the Storm mode"

 

"But it's only one game mode per week!"

 

"Yeah, they haven't figured out how to steal the random game maps yet"

 

 

In all seriousness, good to see League trying to add something new, even if it's not what the community has been asking for.

What has the community been asking for? 

Personally I prefer the league gameplay over hots and dota.

I personally love it. These are my kinda game modes. I only got to play Hexakill once before and am very excited to binge on it again. I feel like in these game modes it's different each match, where as vs. AI or ranked matches there is a certain political way of playing. 

 

It's not that I suck at ranked it's I don't care to keep up with all the

Heroes of Newerth on the other hand, I played that game a ton when it first came out. I loved ranked in that. I was a beast with Slither, Bubbles and Predator. Some of my favorite hero designs too.

What has the community been asking for? 

Personally I prefer the league gameplay over hots and dota. 

If the subreddit is to be believed, people want replays, sandbox mode, and all of the old, out-of-meta champs need to be reworked.

 

It really bothers me that checking when the hero was released gives me a very clear picture of how they fit in the meta. People had tons of complains about movement creep in s2, never addressed, in s3 the big thing was bruisers taking over everything, and then subsequently being nerfed to the ground, and in s4 people's complaints seem to be mostly about heroes being needlessly complex. I stopped back in s3 so I can't vouch for anything that happened after, but at the end of the day the way League creates, designs, and releases heroes is flawed, and it's a flaw they only halfway admit to.

am I the only who likes to spectate ranked games? It's actually great background noise. I like to make bets with myself on which team will win.

So, it's time for the new rotation. This weekends is Ultra Rapid Fire.

 

The map is classic Summoner's Rift.

You have 80% increased cooldowns.

You have free casting cost spells.

Your health and damage is figured in the 100 thousands.

 

If you are team leader I heavily suggest BANNING WUKONG. Something about instakill you burst damage and constant invisi is OP. Take no chances. Let's talk about some other OP heroes that need to be chosen for bans...

 

Zed - constant shadow porting and ult sheninigans.

Ezrael - constant teleport and lane control with ult.

Talon - assassin champs are the worst.

Sona - she wins games. Period. I love me some Sona not on the other team.

Malzahar - stupid good lane control and lockdown.

 

Anyways, I thought it would be nice to start discussing game modes because you can build mastery and earn key fragments in these. Pretty cool. So after a night of riftin' I have learned that those champs are definitely worthy of the banhammer. Take heed.

 

Some other ones to consider are LeBlanc. She basically has infinite flash. I've seen her run down every champ. Riot did nerf some champs like this though she they are not as strong as they use to be in this mode. They want to get rid of things like permastun. Hecarim and Renekton are pretty brutal if left unchecked. I encountered a Renekton that went like 26-7, he was a beast.

 

My three favorite to play in this mode are Vladimir, Volibear and Malzahar/Elise if they are unbanned. Voli is a beast. Constant toss and AOE horror. Trundle is a nightmare though. That speed, slow, and infinite bite (pretty much) he's hard to take down.
