So now i thing it's time to start getting in to the fantasy genre.
so my question is, can you recommend some fantasy tv-series or movies there are good starting up with?

It is only 14 episodes so it's a good small series to start off with, then if you enjoy it there's a movie to sate you as well.

But, yeah, Firefly. Then start writing River fan fiction. That's what you'll do with February.

I suggest after you check out Firefly (good call on that one by the by) you should start ploughing through this list of mostly decent fantasy shows:
Game of Thrones
The Twilight Zone
Legend of the Seeker
Supernatural
Smallville
Being Human (UK is much better in my opinion)
Dead Like Me
Eureka
Xena: Warrior Princess
Hercules: The Legendary Journeys
After all of those are watched, your brain will be so full of wizards, monsters, quirky charm, epic sword fights and sultry maidens that you could quite possibly explode.
My work here is done.
It is perfectly acceptable to fear and admire a being you could not possibly understand.

Hercules: The Legendary Journeys
I second this! I recently started watching this with my dad on the weekends, definitely worth a look if you haven't already.

Misa: I can’t even imagine a world without Light
L: Yes, it would be quite dark.

LOTR isn't sci-fi.
