It was brought up that a group project for the forum would be fun. To do this, first we need to know what everyone can code in, and work from there.

Don't suppose that helps much though.

And I'll drink it!

I'm by far not skilled enough in any programming languages to be of help, I'm afraid, but I can try and do what I can in Python and C# (altough I'll try out C++ soon)

I've learned quite a lot of C++ in my classes, as well as the in's and out's of object oriented programming. I'd need a lot of practice to do something useful, though. I have the knowledge, but no experience.

I'm extremely comfortable with C# and javascript.
I wouldn't be opposed to using Haskell, Ruby, python or F#.
I'd prefer to avoid C++ unless there's a flavor we could all agree on.
I wouldn't work on anything in C or PHP, and I'd be hesitant about anything in Java.

The best language to use depends on the task, though.

I'm pretty comfortable with Java. Not really opposed to anything C++. I know some people here dont really like Java, but thats pretty much all. Not really any languages I completely oppose.

I don't know shit about shit.

Well, that's not correct.

I know an excessive amount about video game mechanics, theory, application, advertisement, metrics etc. etc. etc.

don't know any programming languages.

Ah, speaking of things other than programming, I did quite a lot of sprite-work (pixel art) when I was 12/13. I would splice pokemon to make my own, or do pixel versions of Ken Sugimori's art.

Wait, what’s the project? A video game? Cartoon? App? I’m like a damn Lazarus Long with a lot of computer type stuff, GIMP, AutoCAD, finding internet porn. Yaknow, except coding, which is where this post is sitting. All pretty like.

I don’t know any coding aside from website design. If you need a damn sonnet written with a modified iambic pentameter, I’m your man-boy-cat thing.

I am comfortable in PHP, Javascript(but not JQuery), Python and C++ - as far as databases go, I am sufficient with MySQL, MSSQL and Redis.

Rumors of my demise have been greatly exaggerated.

What exactly are we doing? I'd like to know before incorrectly guessing then failing awkwardly xD

I think the idea was to see what the skills were in the community, and then pick a project that we can do. No sense in trying to make an app or something if none of us knows where to start.

I cannot program.

I love toying with numbers to create systems, and balancing those systems.
So I'd be happy to participate as a playtester or by helping with the numerical aspects of a game.
I don't think he needs to be immortal. I think all he needs to do is to write the right story. Because some stories do live forever.

I get that, but we need a bit of a generalized idea first. I listed my poetry ability for science sake.

A flash cartoon would be cool, a little game, something like that. I’m not sure if we’re organized well enough for anything major.
