I prefer non-fiction so right now I'm reading "Social Engineering: The Art of Human Hacking" by Christopher Hadnagy

I greatly prefer fiction.

I just finished It by Stephen King.

It is the only book I can remember reading that made me genuinely sad at the end.

I'll make sure to check it out and maybe give it a read:)

What are Nerdforumers reading right now?

I've been reading A Blight of Mages by Karen Miller. When I first bought it, I thought it was a stand alone novel, but it turns out it's a prequel to a series of books. I feel slightly guilty reading it, I must be missing a lot of references towards characters that the author wrote in for people who have read the other books.

I'm really into it though. Every time I pick it up, I get sucked into it and the next thing I know it's two hours later. I'll definitely be buying the books that follow.

Quoting for relevance as I'm currently rereading The Innocent Mage by Karen Miller, which is from the series that spawned A Blight of Mages. Almost finished with it, and then I'm moving on to The Awakened Mage. I lost/mislaid/ate my old copies, so I bought all three books a few weeks ago.

I've decided to re-read The Notebook, The Proof, and The Third Lie by Agota Kristof.  These three books get me engrossed every time I pick it but. The triology has a great flow and the characters are awesome. Such a great read.

Since I began reading regularly again I have regained my status as a book monster.

Devouring book after book, story after story, seemingly never getting full.

I am now reading Odd Thomas by Dean Koontz.

I bought The Innocent Mage and I enjoyed it but I lost interest about halfway through The Awakened Mage. I should try picking it up again. I really enjoyed the characters from the prequel and tried to read these ones right after. Since all but one character aren't involved in the original series, I guess I had a hard time. I mean, the characters are great in their own right but I liked Barl and wanted her back.

As for what I'm reading now, I'm all over the place. I keep finding books I want to read so I get them out of the library and realize I have so much to do and I can't get into a reading mood lately so they sit on my desk for two weeks until I have to return them..

But eventually I'll read:

Some We Love, Some We Hate, Some We Eat, an book analyzing of how we view different animals.

The Hockey Stick and The Climate Wars, I don't know, Bill Nye recommended it on SciFri.

Brent Week's The Broken Eye, because I finally caught up

And a bunch of books on Otaku culture I found in my library.

and others I probably forgot about.

Speaking of books, I donated a bunch to my uni library because I am moving and I desperately need to downsize. I'm the worst for collecting books when they're free or cheap. I have like two big boxes of books, mostly fantasy or popular science. Anyway, when I donated the ones that didn't make the cut, they treated me like I donated to a charity, some girl came down and shook my hand, said thank you, I had to sign a form. They didn't even look at what I brought in, they'll probably throw half of it away once they go through it.

So since the beginning of July I have been binge-reading Neil Gaiman. Mostly rereads, (Coraline, The Graveyard Book, American Gods) but then I found The Ocean at the End of the Lane on my book shelf and I realize I never read it after purchasing. So the Gaiman binge continues.

Horimiya! It's a manga. Although I have not finished it (it's on going atm) it is very cute. It is a romance and follows hori and miyamura and there friends through highschool and stuff. I'm not gonna tell you anymore (:< But it is pretty good and short, like over 40 chapters and each chapter is like 20 pages. I also stopped reading it due to my videogame addiction, tokyo ghoul, and other anime people recommend, but I will pick it up another day for sure. You can find it here and plenty of other mangas. Enjoy whatever you're reading!

I started tidying up my room and felt that my bookshelf needed more books so I gathered the ones discarded and left behind by my brothers girlfriend.

I now have the complete Twilight collection, and some.

And I thought, "hmmm what's this book then? Let's see......" '50 SHADES OF GREY'

fifty-shades-300.jpg

Never heard of it so I opened it and started reading.....

FUCKING HELLL, this shit is volatile. So much 'fucking' ......... literally. Conceived by the mind of a lustful housewife. Well this took me by complete surprise. lol And here I thought it was a book about a Morgan Freeman type character thriller murder mystery.

I laughed and told my sister in law what I started reading......

Attack on Titan (obviously), a variety of doujins, and I'm considering Tokyo Ghoul.
I haven't a fucking inkling of what the hell it's about, but I hear it's really sad so it's probably for me. Tumblr is screwing up my life. It teases me constantly with screen caps, gift, and all that good shit.

How do you read more than one thing at once!? My mind just melts it all down into one, loosely knitted plot and it sours the entire experience for me. That being said in the immortal (paraphrased) words of Forrest Gump; "I am not a smart man."

I'm currently reading I, Claudius on my way to work. I've only ever read one or two political fiction books but this one is fantastic, I suppose it's to be expected from a classic work of fiction though...god damn I wish I could write that well.
