a lot of great ones out there but gotta go retro, Mega Man X. Robots who can think and feel, bringing in the futuristic scifi elements while you get some classic literary questions like what defines a soul and can something made by man have one? While the last few were horrid, the first 4 were amazing.

I love X-Com! I've never played it myself but I love the strategic action :)

I've watched many people play and then utterly rage in livestreams... ahhh good times! :D

This is such an impossible choice to make that I don't think anyone would ever be able to arrive on a conclusion as to which is the best ever.
A top fifty list will probably arise, and that is about as close as we could possibly get.

It is perfectly acceptable to fear and admire a being you could not possibly understand.

Mass Effect. All of them.
I don't think he needs to be immortal. I think all he needs to do is to write the right story. Because some stories do live forever.

Alright but the problem with a top 50 list is it would take forever to decide on a number 50 let alone a #1. I'm talking months of debate...

Well thats true but it'd be easier than finding one sole game and calling it the greatest right away. At some point you'd obviously have to but I think the point was that it'd narrow it down to a select few instead of the thousands of Sci-fi games out there.

Bioshock was EPIC! I played the game for hours when I first got it, I couldn't stop. I ended up beating the game in 2 days due to playing 5 hours each day, I was addicted to the game

For me it's got to be Mass Effect 2. Some of my best memories in gaming are from that game.
