Oh, don't you know it...

I thought Slender was pretty scary. Not gonna lie. I've downloaded all the extra stuff, too.
but really,
Spoiler
Slender was genuinely good. Just knowing that he'll pop up, but not when, was really creepy. I can't wait for Slender: The Arrival, either.
Speaking of horror....
Dream of the Blood Moon is kinda like Slender, but even MORE scary. Windows-only, but that didn't stop me! ^_^
The premise is kinda weird, and the game explains it pretty well, but essentially it's a more difficult version of Slenderman with Slenderwoman instead, and there are only 6 "pages", which are tears, but they're much more difficult to get.
Spoiler Protip here:

Another spoiler, this tells you what happens if you get caught.

Also I like Amnesia and Silent Hill.

Tons scarier than the other games mentioned, but I get scared easily. I couldn't sleep after watching Paranormal Activity. I watched all 4 though, and in 4 I watched in-theaters and they gave me special headphones (for my hearing aids). I love being different sometimes :D

amnesia was awesome!

First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out-- Because I was not a Socialist.

Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out-- Because I was not a Trade Unionist.

Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out-- Because I was not a Jew.

Then they came for me-- and there was no one left to speak for me.

I've been wanting to play Amnesia but my current PC can't run it. However, when I upgrade it I do plan on playing it.
The inevitable result... pissing myself most likely.

Am I the only one who wasn't scared by Amnesia?

I mean, yeah it had a scary atmosphere, but after my first death I was like...

"So that's all that happens? damn", at which point I wasn't really scared of any of the monsters.

Slender was... meh. It felt a little too cheesy for my taste, I let it slide because it's an indie game.

I can't blame the developers though, if you're going to try to scare me, video games aren't the medium you should do it from.

games can be a good medium for horror, as the person is more vested in it than a movie (at least i am). just have to get it right. i haven't tried amnesia yet, but i hear good things.

need more psychological in your horror. man, silent hill 2 was a mind fuck trying to figure out everything in james' shattered psyche.

The fact that I'm running, he's right behind me, and I can't defend myself whatsoever is what really scares me. Well that and my adrenaline is insanely high by that point so when I die I'm like "bahsbqwhajwbcjaodsjbnc!!". But eh, I've always been a scaredy cat though so yeah :P hahahaha

Ok, you got me, Silent Hill 2 scared the everloving shit out of me >.>

Don't get me wrong, I was totally "bahsbqwhajwbcjaodsjbnc!!" the first time one of them passed by a doorway I wanted to go through. And I have to admit that they didn't do the easy-to-spot horror sequences, like having to slowly open something or some noise like that.

All in all, a good horror game, I'm just not one to get too scared, especially with those tight responsive controls.

Wanna get me scared? Force low sensitivity and button delay.

I'll be crying by the first chapter.

I gotta admit, that would make the game much more scary than it is now ....

Maybe I'll have the same experience once I actually get to play the game. It just looks so terrifying when I see others playing it haha

This thread is giving me slenderman ads.

It's like they're TRYING to make the game not scary.

"Hiya slenderman, nah I'm currently happy with my car insurance, ok thank you for your time"

He's really not that bad of a guy, he just has space issues.

He doesn't want people in his neck of the woods. He's also just misunderstood!

Slender is scary at first but then it gets not scary.

That and silent hill and slender are in 2 different categories of scary. Seriously... Silent hill was so horrifying I messed up quite a few things in my life, and my hands shook for a week after beating it. (I played it through all at once one weekend) but I like getting scared.
