Seriously. Hephaestus is at home working through 99% of EVERYTHING that ever happens.
And Hercules is an interesting character. In Jason and the Argonauts, I was always fascinated that he was lost as a party member because he went off to search for his servant/boyfriend. In the version that I read in school, anyway. The Wiki doesn't mention that version.
The "real" story of Hercules, the man, the myth, the legend is filled with twists and turns. The Disney version kind of shat all over it and jumbled the timeline and masterminds of events all over the place.
I'm just glad The Rock is finally playing him. I wrote a story with a character code-named Hercules who I envisioned The Rock would play (the character dies very early in the course of the story.) And then it gets announced he's playing Hercules, at least a graphic novel interpretation of him. The trailer displays at least three of his Twelve Labors, which means this version starts after Hera caused him to kill his family (because she was one crazy ass bitch, to quoth Chris Tucker.)
I'm guessing they'll skip over the Labor involving horse manure.
