I'm really disappointed at the number of people who took this too seriously. Given that I'de seen the joke on a humor site before, and I have this thing called a "sense of humor", I just appreciated it for what it was: an awkward joke. Some of you, though, felt you had to keep the issue alive, and some of you even felt the need to attack Robstar AND his girlfriend, even after he'd apologized and said it was all fun and games. I feel it was very unbecoming; this is a place for hospitality not hostility.

Mind you, I'm just a senior member, so my words have no weight, I just want some of you to step back and look at yourselves.

Robstar, I'm sorry some of our members can't take a joke. Best of luck to you and your girlfriend, and may you have a happy relationship.

But I can promise, no self-respecting WOMAN (not girl) is going to appreciate a guy who plays off of being an asshole.

I think this is the only sound advice I've ever seen anyone give about relationships ever. I wish I'd been told that flat out a year ago.

The confidence thing is 100% true. A little bit of arrogance (read: a little) will get girls wrapped on you ezpz. The point of a relationship is that it's mutually beneficial, and if you are willing to be a girls bitch without dating her than why would she ever go beyond that?

He only started calling it a joke when he was called out for being a creep. He even said his advice was to find a "first girlfriend" and that it has been "proven to work". I did not find humor in any of it. I am sorry if the point of this thread was to create a humorous tutorial and that I had just failed to see the jokes. His references to "nerds and dorks" and using "pretty dorky references", made me feel as if it was condescending.

You say you want this to be a hospitable place, yet condone a thread like this that portrays the objectification of women as if it were a joke. I have never been one to hold my tongue when something is wrong.

I am sorry if you were offended by my responses Rob$tar. I am sorry I was offended by your thread instead of humored by it. Please forgive me. I am headstrong and loud mouthed.
