Looking back, the responses were pretty vehement pretty immediately.
I think perhaps disapproval could have been shown a little more gently.

I don't think he needs to be immortal. I think all he needs to do is to write the right story. Because some stories do live forever.

I don't think wolf intended to incriminate anyone and as far as what I said goes I'm merely asking people to "be the bigger person". If someone says something that offends you and you have something less than polite to say I'm asking that you just say nothing at all.
As far as whether the thread is acceptable or not - that's entirely up to spleen. I *personally* see no harm in it, but I do understand how one could be offended by it.
