Is googling yourself wrong? People make jokes like it's a conceited thing to do but sometimes I get curious. However, my name makes it hard to find out anything at all. Any other opinions?

Employers will actually go snooping around for your information (even if they shouldn't) so it's a good idea to Google your full name and professional email and see what comes up and try to get rid of anything embarrassing or tells them that you're not good for the job.

Fortunately for me, not a whole lot comes up. My real name is too common to get anything of mine. All I get are really excitable random girls from Australia or England. I only use my school email for jobs, so nothing comes up there,

SushiKitten is too common to get anything of mine either, and my other handle, Lunies, is just associated with the term lunatic. Looking at previous usernames I've used over the years, I get some embarrassing stuff I'm not linking to because I was twelve and weird.

I google my username quite often. It's very unique so it's interesting to see what pops up.

Just like Sushi said employees like to google you. Since I'm in the IT field I'm sure this is especially true so I do what I can to avoid being able to find anything based off of my real name (unless of course its work relevant).

EmosaurusRex is also a common enough name (it wasn't when I made it >:I) that it can't trace too much back to me.

I've used soooo many different usernames that I don't think they'll really be able to narrow me out. So if my employer to be would Google me I doubt he'd find a ton on me.

Ahaha, well they'll be googling you're real name, you know.

But I don\t think it's conceited at all. If you're googling usernames, an interesting way to go back and see some of the communities you've been a part of over the years.

And if you're googling your real name, it's interesting to see the people who have the same name as you. That in itself can be a little fun.

Golgotha just comes up with a fuck tonne of Christian stuff because Golgotha = Calvary. My real name comes up with a lot of random crap and then some business stuff like my old profile for PPH and LinkedIN. Oh and the second result for...my name...is my book. =D

Also, googling my real name gives me nothing. My stage name gives me my imdb credits. My username gives me all my silly accounts. Too many damn names.
