Good news, everyone! We're not going to run out of music.

So, something that I've had actual anxiety about on occasion is the idea that the amount of musical combinations are finite.

Turns out that it is staggeringly unlikely.

I have had this same train of thought a few times.
If you think about the statistics of it all those thoughts quickly vanish.
I saw a statistics thing on how if you open a new deck of playing cards and shuffle them the chances of anyone ever throughout all of history shuffling an identical deck of cards into the same order you just did are one in vigintillion.
Which is 10 to the power of 600.

So, it isn't all that surprising that we will never run out of new arrangements of musical notes when you do the math.
:D

It is perfectly acceptable to fear and admire a being you could not possibly understand.

Yeah, I don't generally do this sort of math recreationally , so it's nice when someone else does it for me.
I didn't know that about decks of cards either. 0_o That's pretty amazing.

It's also pretty amazing that we even have methods of representing numbers that large. Numbers so large that, even if we had started at the beginning of the human race and passed the count down through generations, we still could never have counted that high.

Also, thanks for sending out those patches so quick. :P

I abhor Vsauce's stressed tonality. It seems like he is speaking out of a comic book; every other noun is in bold.

I didn't plan on watching the video until you said that. He is a white Morgan Freeman.
