It was really depressing.
But that's anime for you!

When a shinigami gives its life to save a human the human inherits the remaining time the shinigami would have had, so depending on how many names the two shinigami that gave their lives for her had written down prior to their demise she could have racked up a very very long lifetime
First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out-- Because I was not a Socialist.
Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out-- Because I was not a Trade Unionist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out-- Because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me-- and there was no one left to speak for me.

Does it stint your age?
What I mean is, do you still grow older?
Cause being 1500 seems like it'd be a bitch.

Yeah, definitely.
At that point I think waking up would break bones.

My favorite characters are L and Near...something about that quiet, eerie intelligence gives me the tinglies.
I preferred the ending where L didn't die before Kira (like in the movie), but the fact that he dies in the anime before Kira allows us to meet Near, Mello, and Matt...so I'm not too bitter about that.
I didn't feel that the series dragged on nor ended too quickly, though I could always use more Death Note. I just think it's so well-written, and the characters are really deep and likeable. It's just so epic. ^^

I think both endings were great in their own right, there was just something about L knowing Light's plan to kill him beforehand and taking matters into his own hands that was really awesome to me.
It's definitely one of the animes I would watch again.
The movies as well.

Favorite characters? The good guys, L and i dont remember the name of the son of his.
Which ending did you prefer? Its weird that he first didnt run away and then wrote their names in the piece of paper on his watch.

Did you feel as tho it dragged on or did it need more time or was it just right? More episodes ^^, everything else is just right

For me it was a great anime and I freaking loved it, but closer to the end it came more used you got to it and it kinda destroyed the suprising feeling when you knew what was going to happen because you started to overthink stuffs yourself, so I believe it ended right at time actually otherwise you would just sit there every episode and get headeac because you were trying to understand what move they were going to do next.
Were I the only one that go the feeling they made so that they started to think to complicated in the end to much? That it didn't feel real in some way that they kinda pulled it to the edges?

The ending leaves you hanging/thinking a little bit though.

O.o how so?The ending leaves you hanging/thinking a little bit though.
There's a book about a few of L's cases before the Kira case, it's pretty good if you are an L fan.

Most people expected a more... spectacular ending. And alot of people didn't like that it "wasn't his fault", except that it was, in order to not get caught he gave the note to Mikami [since he had indirectly killed Misa to kill L], so in the end his past actions were his undoing, and in a roundabout way, L still won.
Still one of my most memorable, favorite anime endings of all time.
"Who else could have done it?
To go this far?
To be able to go on?
Only I could do it...
That's right...
In order to create a new world...
Only I can do it..."

L was definitely one of my favourite characters.
watch it through again, and pay very close attention to him, his ticks, and his nuances. he's a surprisingly deep character for having such an Intelligent and Offputting shell.
When he opens up to Light in the hallway, you can see the L is being open with Light, respects him, sees him as a friend, which is something he has never had growing up, or living life.
There are some seriously heavy feels from it, especially when he gets killed.
