It is time.
Let us discuss what segments to have, and who wants to help with it.

We need a few interesting things, and the final product will probably be an HTML format email, but currently everything is up in the air.

Well as I've said I'm more than willing to offer input. =)

I can help with writing and editing since that's what I do as a job. I've helped with branding and advertising companies in the past if you need help there but it's not my expertise.

I don't like such non-personal mail, but what are you planning to put in a forum's newsletter?
After a couple of months there won't be enough features to write a newsletter on every month.

Game reviews, new nerdy things, etc.

So a nerd newsletter rather than a nerdforum newsletter?

I could do some game reviews, depending on time.

Exactly. It would be produced and sent to members of Nerd Forum, but it would be general nerdy stuff.

That'd be pretty awesome.

This is also my area of expertise, and it couldn't hurt to have a few people covering it.
It would allow for a wider coverage, and incase one is too busy to do a write up the other(s) could fill in.
I am also generally gifted as far as writing anything goes, so I could chip in on whatever really.

Obviously we would be covering typical nerdy things like gadgetry and gaming, would we cover any world news though? There's a lot going on in the world at the moment and a lot of people don't get a neutral perspective on these topics. Just a thought.

Only technology news, I don't want to get into politics or anything like that.

Politics are a bit more debatable then how good a piece of tech is.
Might be better to just have threads pertaining to political subjects.

This

as long as we have points for all sides, though, it could work out.

I guess what I'm saying is we would have to be impossibly unbiased

So, BBC style. I just think that you can report on world events without getting into the politics. If anything, giving the facts is news, putting a spin on it is opinion. Well, whatever you go with, I respect your opinion, I just think it'd be a shame to miss out on some of the things going on in Israel and Gaza at the moment.

Well considering those aren't really nerdy, they'd be out of place in a nerd newsletter, don'cha think?

So, the British fag told me it would be nice to make a short comic for the news teller. Well, I say let it rain tacos, I'm in.

I'll be making a single comic strip about certain posts a group of members make in a topic. If I think it's funny, I'll try my best to bring it to life via web comics. I'll be doing this weekly, seeing as I'm a slow worker, and college eats out most of my time and such.

NOTE: I will be improvising impressions of what I believe you guys look like if I don't find a picture of you on the photo topic.

Decent idea.
I like the specific to user's posts idea.
There are already a handful of pretty funny things floating around here, and I would love to see them brought to life via web comic.

Also, perhaps I shall have to post a picture of myself so you know what I look like.
Just incase I manage to say something humerous enough to be included in your stuff.
You may want to use your most handsom pencil and paper though, anything less won't do me justice.
;)

It would be decent if it gained any sort of popularity as well, since it is very specific to this place and its members.
Possibly bringing more traffic here.
No pressure though Dot.
