The trick is to always use shampoo on your beard.
That way it is in the same shape as your on top of head hair.
Plus, the ladies prefer silky smooth things rather than rough scratchy things.
If you know what I mean, and I think you do.

I shampoo all my hair at least a few times a week. All of it. Also, you growing a beard for Movember or is it just standard for you? =)

I normally keep it at a stubble but I got lazy. At about a week in my fiancee said to let it grow for another week and keep it.

I haven't intentionally participated in Movember/Don't shave December since I was in high school. :x

You mean Decembeard. =D

I used Movember as an excuse to regrow my 'tache which I really missed in the brief few days I had no facial hair...did that makes sense? I'm so fucking tired.

It made enough sense. ;p I can't make myself grow a stache, the period of time where you look like a molester is too much for me.

At the very least having a molestache makes you stand out from other people and more likely to make you meet new people.

I hear that, my 'tache got me a little bit of a flirt with a chemist. xD

shampooing your beard can cause dryness. definitely condition it. and if at all possible, oil it.

lol, no.

i don't personally use any oils due to lack of funds. try to find something that doesn't weigh your hair down. and importantly, one you can tolerate the smell of if it's scented.

but here's a good write up to help you figure it out:

I run the same lazyness cycle.
I knock my beard down to stubble and forget to do anything about it intil it gets itchy like three weeks later.
At which point my beard has soared to hob level heights of excellence.
Then the cycle repeats.

I love that LD pops in on anything beard related.

There is nothing wrong with having an authority on beards skirting the fringes of the forum, waiting to pounce at the chance to show off their prowess
