Guys,

I am not really good at programming but need to get a program created for my work. I have visual studio 10 and a extremely basic knowledge of visual basic itself. However, I know this will be difficult if not impossible for me. I would like anybody's advice/suggestions/help on me creating a program for recording customer profiles which I can connect/record customers calls and more importantly record RMA's.

I would advise hiring a consultant to do this. The data seems important so possibly mucking that could have some big repercussions.

You could always begin learning from the bottom and making your way up. Depends how long you got.

I am sharing this link around because the guy who does it gives beginner to intermediate knowledge on a lot of subjects. I am not sure if he does what you want, but take a look!

This is not something for a beginner to do. Hire a contractor.

Rumors of my demise have been greatly exaggerated.

The best thing you can do for starters is come up with a list of 'requirements' that the software must fulfill. Not from a technical coding perspective, but from a business perspective. (what sort of information defines a customer profile, etc.) Depending on the scale of your customer base you will be able to work towards a framework that supports. But I have to agree with the majority here... you need an experienced software engineer and depending on how much time you have you may need additional developers.
