like, 256mb ram and a 1.5ghz single core celeron m old.

I think Windows 2000 would probably be the upper limit.

You could try Chromium OS. Not sure if it meets min requirements or not~

Also, Chromium OS apparently doesn't like to install from anything but USB,and the computer only supports booting from a cd or floppy.

I guess since Win7 wasn't a steaming pile of shit like Vista, people aren't as anxious to jump ship
