So I learned yesterday that the third Iron Man movie will be delving into the Extremis story arch.
Not sure how I feel about that yet.
Extremis was intended to be something of a re-imagining for Tony Stark and iron man.
I am not so sure they can just take the virus part (presumably) and leave out the rest of the story.

It looks like they went with the same plot arc that the Dark Knight movies did.

Hero becomes a hero, hero almost has his world ripped apart, hero does have dis world ripped apart and has to fix it.

most super hero movies had that long before the dark knight. I love the extremis arc and apparently a lot of the movie is based on that. Also Shane Black is a great director, so I'm looking forwad to it

Do we know if the third movie is based on a comic book? Or if they will throw in bits and parts like in Amazing Spidey

a lot of it is based on the extremis plot line from the books

By the way, is there anyone who knows why the Mandarin calls himself "The Mandarin"? Is it something having to do with his chinese heritage?

If I'm not mistaken, thats really the only reason, but I'm not the best with iron man trivia.
