Hello everyone.
I have been searching for the last while for a new stomping grounds and from what i can tell this place will suite my needs.
I am not a fan of rambling on about my interests and whatnot in my intro post, so I won't.
It will all trickle out sooner or later anyway.
I used to call Nerdtests.com my home, even moderated for a good long while then became a system Admin, but it sadly died when all of the users stopped hanging around the forum.
So, hello to everyone, I plan on sticking around here for a good long while.

It is perfectly acceptable to fear and admire a being you could not possibly understand.

Hello and welcome. :)

I actually tried to contact the owner(s) of nerdtests.com to see if they would inform users of this site, since they didn't seem to want to keep it active, but never got a response.

I like your name. :D

Hope this can meet your needs and make you feel at home.

Sorrie about your loss, dwindling forums is a sad thing to be privy to.

Nerman (the bossman Admin) basically started the site, got it going, then disappeared and left its operations to a handful of fresh faced (myself included) users who were surprise promoted to Moderators.
He probably got all messages and just didn't do anything about them, most likely because he wasn't touching the site anymore.
Plus there haven't been any users other than a select few even going to Nerdtests, and they only went there out of habit and nostalgia I think.
I am still in contact with a handful of the people who were also bummed out by Nerdtests death, so I may try to get a hold of them and let them know about this place.

Yes, it sucks when a place you invest copious amounts of time into suddenly starts withering away and you can't stop it.

By the by, I chose my name way back in high school by closing my eyes and pointing into a dictionary.
First shot I hit Affray, thought to myself "That sounds cool as hell.", plus its definition is good, so I have used it everywhere since.

Yeah, I read through some information on it, and gathered that it had been pretty much abandoned. I was hoping he'd at least be willing to send out a mass email so that the members there could gather again on a more active site. It'd be nice if you could inform anyone of similar interests about this place though. :)

Awesome.

I am not creative.

My online names consist of me typing the first thing that comes to mind.

I only eat the tops of muffins, the rest is not worth my pallete's time.

And I have access too all former nerdtests member email addresses, I shall send out a summon and see who ventures forth in to the world, of tomorrow.

You are welcome Wolf.

First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out-- Because I was not a Socialist.

Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out-- Because I was not a Trade Unionist.

Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out-- Because I was not a Jew.

Then they came for me-- and there was no one left to speak for me.

Quick thing on the subject of Nerd Tests, I just tried to reply to your post there, and it seems that new users need an admin to validate them.

I see.
There were some talks long ago about filtering new members because there were so many spammers showing up and crashing the party.
I did not know that it went in to effect though, kind of a stupid idea really.
