lol when i realise that i have no chance at all i either systematically beam all of my surviving crew onto the enemy ship, or just open all the doors and shut down everything.

First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out-- Because I was not a Socialist.

have any of you made it to the crystal sector? i got a crystal crewmember, but he said to make it to the crystal sector i had to use some portal thingy that is near rock worlds. There were no more rock sectors left >.> Also they are neat they have a lockdown ability so you can block a room off to keep enemies from getting in or out of it.

I got the crystal crewmember in one game as well, but I haven't been lucky enough yet to make it to the crystal sector. The events that allow it are random and therefore do not necessarily happen in any plausible order each game.

I unlocked the Zoltan ship, though.
And then beat the game with it. Easiest victory yet.

I don't think he needs to be immortal. I think all he needs to do is to write the right story. Because some stories do live forever.

I don't think he needs to be immortal. I think all he needs to do is to write the right story. Because some stories do live forever.

O.o iv beaten it a couple dozen times already. I have the starter ship(both versions), the engi(both versions), the federation cruiser(both versions), the stealth ship(both versions), the zoltan ship (both versions), and i JUST unlocked the mantis ship.

I actually really like the Mantis ship.
Don't you have the Rock cruiser? It's got an excellent setup for teleportation tactics.
The med bay is right next to the teleporter.
You just have to get rid of the stupid missile setup as fast as possible.
Stupid missiles. >__0

The stealth cruiser is my favorite, though. Both versions. I love their weapons.
It's hard to start with the glaive beam, but it works out beautifully if you can survive long enough to buy shields.

And i agree the stealth cruiser is fantastic. Level 3 stealth+glaive beam is awesome. Add a weapon pre-igniter and there are few ships you cannot destroy before they can get a hit on you.

I don't remember off the top of my head, but there's an FTL wiki that gives all the details on how to get each of the different ships.
Just google "Ftl wiki" and it should be the first hit. I'd link you but I'm at work. <__<

Oh man yeah. I've never been lucky enough to get the weapon pre-igniter with the Version 2 Nessiao yet. I've only played that ship layout a couple of times so far.

I did a few days ago. It was amazing!

Best part is i got it early and i got it for free. For half of the game i was insta killing most ships i ran into.

Finally ran accross the event to unlock the rock cruiser! Just missing 2 now.

edit Also i have decided that the mantis cruiser is nice, however you must get a decent start for it to be nice. That's only an evaluation of the first layout, i just unlocked the second and have yet to try it.

Hnnng. I decided to go for 2 achievements at once, and now I'm going to lose against the boss for sure >.> Living Off The Land (don't buy anything in stores) and No Redshirts Here (no crew deaths) so now I'm in the alt version of the starter ship, with no weapons aside from the starters. Help ._.

Sadly not, I got destroyed. I did make it pretty far with the Engi regular ship though. I got really lucky and got a uh. I forget the name, but it's a 5-shot laser cannon that does 1 damage per hit. It meant I didn't need to use the overloady weapon anymore, so I got to spam drones >.>

And now for some reason FTL keeps crashing when I start it. Go go file verification
