I've read the book all of the way through, like, five times, along with the lord of the rings.

greed is going to ruin the movie >.> the hobbit is shorter than any of the lord of the rings trilogy yet they are going to stretch it to be just as long as all three of them?
First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out-- Because I was not a Socialist.
Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out-- Because I was not a Trade Unionist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out-- Because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me-- and there was no one left to speak for me.

The Silmarillion on the other hand, they could make that book into a dozen mocies and probably still leave out a toone of stuff.

the silmarillion isnt really a story though. its a bunch of jibber jabber slapped together to create a history.
And nerds would watch the balls out of Tolkein lore brought to life in front of them.

Don't half ass two things.
Whole ass, one thing.
-Ron Swanson
Also, the seventh Doctor is in The Hobbit, so is Bret McKenzie, and Gloin looks like a Klingon.

I just hope it's good and not too drawn out.I am such a fan of Peter Jackson and obviously, I am stoked for this movie. However, after reading the interview with him in the Rolling Stone, he has his creative reasons for 3 films.

As a fan of the Hobbit, I'de have to say there's going to be alooooot of stuff pulled out his ass.
I mean, comparative purposes, LOR trilogy was 3 decent sized books, Hobbit is a short prologue, leading into it while telling it's own exciting tale.
I feel that it, in no way, merits 3 entire movies. There's alot that happens, but it's all small stuff that is glanced over.

If anything each of the three books that were a movie each could have been a trilogy each, or atleast a two banger.
I hope he doesn't butcher The Hobbit just to stretch it out.

Apparently, he believes The Hobbit is filled with moments that span over two pages but are truly significant and therefore he doesn't feel he can just go over them and handle them so casually.
