can't have a nerd forum without fallout >.> can use this thread to discuss or ask questions about it.

first order of business is showing two certain posters here my fallout three "collection".

i'd like to note that i got lazy and instead of dropping things individually to the floor, anything that had more than five is in a single stack (as evidenced by the single deathclaw hand saying [13] in the final image).

lol. sad thing is, that save file isn't even 'finished' with the game. and all of that stuff isn't random trash, it's all useful items. even the misc stuff has a purpose (most of it is for making more weapons).

also, if you're curious, that lump of brain in picture 18 is actually from my character >.>

i suggest not getting the GFWL version. sadly, i bought mine when i was sans internet, so i had no choice. GOTY edition should run about twenty bucks. there's also New Vegas. it's a bit more like 1 and 2 and actually has a number of improvements over fallout 3.

you're welcome :) i do highly recommend them. they play like oblivion/skyrim, so they'll feel familiar, but the setting and writing really set it apart.

I'd suggest anyone who likes Fallout go to the grass roots and play the first two back where it all began. You can't beat an RPG if it's isometric. ;D

Also, hello all.

Seriously bummed with Fallout after The Survivor debacle. Actually started up a new FNV save not that long ago though and actually am making an effort to play it like a proper RPG rather than just the main quest. I have a terrible habit of treating RPG's really shallow. Love all the Core Region references I'm picking up; I feel so exclusive.

Yeah I sort of panic thinking I don't have enough time to explore or something. With F1 and F2 that was a bit of a problem, especially in the former; if you wanted to do everything you had to keep to a reaaaally tight schedule, or play it through a couple of times. The Glow for instance, was right out in the middle of bloody nowhere but ofc you needed to go there to get into the BoS.

I'm supposing you're a nut for the originals too?

This thread makes me wish Fallout 3 worked on my Desktop without crashing every few minutes. :(

Yeah, I've tried every fix, it just doesn't like Either my Windows 7 install, or my 8 core CPU.

I really, really like Fallout 3.

New Vegas let me down really hard.

Even as a stand alone game, not comparing it to Fallout 3, it kind of sucked.

It was glitchy, the plot was trite, too many silly mechanics for one game.

I couldn't even finish it, I think I got my guy to level 14 and ended up at that empty warehouse full of ghoul scientists trying to get to the moon and just sort of stopped caring.

It is perfectly acceptable to fear and admire a being you could not possibly understand.

Fallout is supposed to be a bit silly though, that was part of the appeal. I mean come on, the post-apocalypse would by all rights be pretty fucking grimdark but Fallout makes you laugh now and again.I think Gameplay wise F3 had better gameplay and a better enivronment, but the story telling of FNV was better.

What pissed me, btw off what putting Harold in F3 and not FNV. I mean, really?

I've got New Vegas installing right now >.> I want to install Fallout 3 as well, but eeeeehhhhhh. I'm not looking forward to the amount of bullshit needed to get it running on Windows 8. Though I shouldn't run into that issue with graphics cards this time around since I'm using AMD instead of Intel.

This thread needs more post

Today I loaded up my new vegas character Rico Suave, He has max charisma and max luck

I love that with max Luck, I can go to the casinos and win hand after hand of blackjack until I get banned

It's like:

>4, 5: 9

Hit me

>King: 19

Hit me

>Ace: 20

...Hit me

>Ace. 21

.... Hit me >w>

I imagine at that point the dealer reaches for the deck, only to have his hands explode

What I'd do is play roulette until I was almost at the max needed to get banned, then I would go play the slots, get a jackpot and get double the amount needed to get banned. Super banned!
