Mass Effect 2

After sitting down and reading the entire codex for about 2 hours, I found myself often using all the speech options available, relishing the smooth, organic animations, the spot-on voice acting, and the lore of the series.
At this point, I affectionately refer to it as Chat Effect
Combat is pretty solid, I picked Adept but I'm more interested in the other classes now, after being paired with another adept, and given a mission to go find another.
One drawback: Not having played Mass Effect 1 means I'm playing as Amnesia Shepard @.@
This happens more than I would like:
NPC: "I can't believe you did X in the Y galaxy"
Me: "I did whatnow?"

you have it for ps3, right? if so, the first one isn't available to you, but you should have been able to complete a kinda comic thing that gives you the jist of the first game's storyline and let you pick the choices you would have made.

i play soldier and infiltrator. i use infiltrator for my insanity runs, because damn they're awesome. you will eventually run into more members that better flesh out your party.

ooooo
I gotta try Infiltrator
and yeah, I got it for Ps3
I made a new character, picked a backstory, then the beginning cutscene started
no comic, no decisions
From what the NPCs are saying I went for human supremacy, though
I call shenanigans

but yeah, what you described was the 'default' character for a new mass effect 2 character.

He got himself kicked out, though, and now I never hear from him.
But the taste I got in ME1 influenced me to buy ME2
That and a severe need for a non-PAYDAY RPG in my gaming roster >.>

honestly, i liked the series. you didn't make a bad choice. i do miss some of the more 'rpg' elements that were taken out of me1 for me2 and 3, though.

Yeah, and it's balls the MS is holding the rights to publish ME1i didn't get to play many of the dlc for any of the three. wish i could, though.

They are inspiring me to pirate
inspirating
I prefer ME3, myself. If you play an engineer it's basically easymode, even on insanity.

I'll keep that in mind

just my opinion, but honestly ME3 had the easiest insanity playthrough. was a breeze the whole time for me. ME2, on the other hand, had a few more challenging areas.I prefer ME3, myself. If you play an engineer it's basically easymode, even on insanity.
i hate saying this, but you're lucky they didn't get to publish 2 or 3, either. but of course they're not gonna give up publishing rights. that'd be a loss of revenue (albeit at this point, it's probably not much).Yeah, and it's balls the MS is holding the rights to publish ME1

Well, after the success of ME1, I doubt that BioWare had much trouble finding a publisher other than MS
I am lucky they didn't sign over the IP, but I doubt BioWare was that desperate for a publisher
So losing ME1 was a necessary evil,
and evil begets evil

I'm just gonna trade it in, get something new [possibly uncharted]. I will not entertain EA by paying $15 for the full story, nor will I buy another copy
I'll just pirate the whole series, suck on that EA

And Wolf, you mentioned possibly getting Uncharted? Go for it. Seriously, it's my all time favorite game (mainly because I'm a history nerd, I like pirates, and it reminded me of Indiana Jones,) but you won't regret playing Uncharted.
I prefer the second game though. Among Thieves.

I'm playing the game on my PC, truly an amazing game, entertaining story line and it's one of the few good games I can find that take place in space. Being a fan of Star Wars, Star Trek TNG and Battlestar Galactica, this game really keeps me entertained.

Sorry I missed your post, It's been hectic lately
Yeah, I had fun playing the beta for the third, IIRC I likened it to Assassins Creed parkour with smooth third person shooting, it was great
I'm a big story fan though, if a game can make me feel ANY emotion by the end, I had a good experience
good examples [of some of my favorite games]
Red Dead Redemption [cried at the end]
Journey [cried at the end]
GTA4 [just so well done]
Max Payne, although the third installment stopped trying halfway through
Legend of Dragoon, Final fantasies, Chrono trigger, etc etc
not to say I don't like mindless fun, i still play Prototype for that very reason >.>

You should definitely do that. :3Drake's Fortune was the first Uncharted I played, I still think it's better than the third game, though I love that one as well... sorry for going off topic.. should open an Uncharted topic... procrastination get's the best of me. But I digress.
Also, Journey's really THAT good? How long is it?
