Anyone see this movie?

I waited for a while cause it kind of looked gitchy, but I actually kinda liked it.

Could just be that Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively are so delishiously bangable tho. >.>

I really did like that back story with his dad, I'm a sucker for dem sappy back stories.

I actually really like this movie too. My husband did not. He complained that it went too far off of the comic book story. Which, it did... but sill lol There's one simple rule I *always* follow when seeing any movie that is based off of any comic/book... NEVER expect it to be the same or you're going to have a bad time

I like Ryan Reynolds as an actor as well, he's always able to slip his comedic personality in every role he has.

I made a character on DC Universe online based off the green lantern. He's pretty weak atm, but wait til I level him up!!!!

I didn't enjoy it and you really can't use the don't expect it to be like the book excuse here, just look at marvel. Also the major problem with the movie is simply to many writers and rewrites. Hal is supposed to overcome the fear yet he spends well over the movie simply whining about how bad he has it. The movie also lacks focus, is it about the romantic angle with carol? is it about hal overcoming the fear of dying like his dad? Is it about being a hero and defeating parralax? Hector Hammond? Why was amanda waller skinny when part of her character was overcoming great odds to get to her position despite not having looks to fall back on. Not saying we needed precious, but certainly Angela Basset doesn't give off the feeling of having to fight and scrap to get where she was, despite being a wonderful actress she wasn't right for the role. A major focus in the GL series is also both imagination, which I'll give them credit for with the constructs, the race car one was a bit silly but I'll give it to them, and the other being space which the movie predominantly takes place on earth which is disappointing. Mark Strong as Sinestro was perfect casting, I'll give them that, he really exudes that arrogance and intelligence which make the character both loved and hated by fans. All in all it wasn't the worst comic movie, not even close when movies like Johan Hex exist as well as stinkers like catwoman, but it is vastly underwhelming which hurts us the loyal fans.

I agree with a few things. I have to say that Ryan Reynolds did a good job with what he had. Parallax was disappointing, Blake Lively's bitch character was one dimensional. I don't understand why everyone thinks that Hal is immature when we don't really get a chance to see this, except he slept in once - that's it. That's his character development. The backstory was stolen from Top Gun/hot shots.

 

I love Hal Jordan, but the movie was ass. But I love Hal Jordan so I just keep rewatching it, hoping it will get better. The best thing about the movie is Sinestro, Killowog and Abin Sur/Jake the muss.

 

I wouldn't steal a car, but I'd download one if I could.
