I never actually finished one. I think Wind Waker was my favorite though, probably came out at just the right age for me.

Majoras Mask, although I prefer the translated japanese version with no saving [aside from the Song of Time]
Twilight Princess, GC version where Link isn't right-handed
Wind Waker, because it was the one where they finally got the hang of pacing.

Link to the Past is by far the best for me.
I also liked the two gamrboy colour ones, Oracle of Time and Oracle of Seasons.
Links Awakening is also fun, because of Goombas, Chomps and everything else that is good and just in the world.

It is perfectly acceptable to fear and admire a being you could not possibly understand.

Full motion videos and side scrolling, not exactly my idea of a Legend of Zelda game.

Ah, some interesting history for you then

Nintendo found the original SMB 2 too difficult for overseas audiences

so they took another brand they owned, a recently published game "Doki Doki Panic", and literally just swapped out the sprites

That's how Mario and friends suddenly had abilities and whatnot, it was already part of Doki Doki Panic

funnily enough, they ended up keeping princess peaches floating ability, making it a canon part of the series in Super Smash Bros.

The more ya know :)

ive always liked a link to the past. best 2d game of all time imo (its better than 99% of modern 3d games)

actually, ive always liked 2d. there are very few games in 3d that take advantage of a 3d world, minecraft and the 3d zelda games (and a few fps games) being the only exceptions.

I just wish we had more zelda style games and less overdone fps games (again, there are a few fps's that break the status quo and become great games, but think about it. like a third of all games released are fps's, and imo CoD is no different from Halo (although I do sometimes play halo XD)

EDIT: also, I like the second zelda game, but its not really a zelda game imo. Its not the same. But its still a great game :)

I really want to play this game and follow the story! but when I try to follow the series all steps I kinda grew tired of the first game because well, I don't have the same patient you had before and you don't do as random stuffs as you do before xD I mean when I started to play the first one I never thought you should burn down the forests to find a hidden place, you get my point.. So my question is, should I try another time from the beginning and actually push myself threw it or can i skip the first game and where should I continue if I want to follow the story?:)

They are all kind of random as far as plot line goes.
I mean there is one, but it involves multiple timelines and whatnot.
So im not sure where the best starting point would be if you didn't want to start from square one and play through the entire series.
