So during my romp on Blacklight I noticed a few guys having a valid debate in the Global chat (Oh and if you don't play Blacklight you should know that the word "valid" is rarely used in the same sentence as "Global chat"). The were discussing which is better to play FPS (First Person Shooters) on PC with. A controller, your basic mouse or a track ball.

Or Controller:

I know most of you know what these things are but I prefer visual aids in my posts. :3
I myself use your basic Logitech LX3 Optical mouse. It works fine and moves steady and smooth.
I was just wondering what preferences,if any,you guys had. :3

A mouse with a good tracking system is best I think. I'm not a fan of trackballs, and I think joysticks are pretty terrible for fps games.

They're a bit big for that.

I used to have a logitech something or other that had a slot for counterweights in the bottom. Used to love that for CS.

@SpleenBeGone: I prefer a mouse myself. Controllers are fine but feel limiting for some reason.

@Hacker4Life: Oh Hack. *pats head* I like you, your silly.

@Emosaurusrex: I love Logitech products. They always work great.Even the cheap ones!

I REALLY want this mouse! But I'm not sure it's worth the pricetag. X3

You can't get near the precision from a controller, and the hand/eye coordination with a mouse is more natural is why.

Yeah I guess that would be the reason. Very well put. I'd love the Cyborg Mouse but I worry it might be too complicated. I would enjoy the faster response time and smoother tracking but not sure it would be worth $80.

I've had some people tell me it was great, and others say that the adjustments make sharp points. You might want to just try for a nice logitec or razer mouse. I've personally used the diamondback and naga a ton, and their sensors are great.

Yeah I noticed that.....Thanks for the tip. I'm gonna look up on them now. I've just been into PC gaming for the past 3 months. So I'm still learning. x3 I've been using a $12 mouse so far and I'm happy with it but would like something more. I'm running a custom Alienware laptop. It runs great. Chrissaysays internet is awesome too. o/ So I'm pretty well set up.

Awesome. :)

Yeah, when it comes to mice, you really can't go wrong with either Razer or the G-Series from Logitech.

As a side note on the naga, if you play any MOBAs be warned that mine broke after ~4 months of strenuous right clicking. The plastic piece that presses down on the actual button inside wore down, need to extend it and fix it or some shit.
