Here is where you can discuss what you feel about Metal Gear (any game). I love this series and it's one of the best out there, in my opinion.

I have played just about every Metal Gear game there is, except MG Acid and Portable Ops. And with that, I own all the others.

Thoughts?

Uhhh...I'm playin' Snake Eater and it's the first MGS game I ever played. The camouflage system is a bit...complicated and frustrating. =\

I'm playing that again too. All you really need to do is hide in the grass or out of view.

So far I only had the chance to play it once for, like, 20 minutes, because my sister had people over. Hope to hook the PS2 up again tonight and give it another go.

Oh so you're not that far in the game. Well it's quite a game. Once you're done with it, you're probably gonna be saying "Holy shit, this game is quite the twist". Probably not in those exact words.

Great series, 2 was great, and has aged well

3 was great at release, had some interesting takes on boss fights, like it's predecessors, but the camouflage system just broke it for me. Favorite part if the fight with Big Boss, only because the first time I fought here I had a room full of friends, and the first time she threw me our jaws dropped as I had a broken/sprained arm and broken/sprained legs.

I hated 4, I was always either wandering around, trying to find the next area, or going so fast through the game I barely even paid attention. I also wonder why Otacon doesn't just make a better robot and not send Snake, you need his ass for everything, anyway...

I actually enjoyed [i think it was] Portable Ops, but I am a sucker for good turn based strategy games.

You would get along great with a friend of mine, Metal Gear and Resident Evil are the only games he plays. Hes absolutely a Metal Gear fanboy, though.

Well the camouflage system wasn't that bad, imo. It was very easy to use, really. Same as in 4. I like all the games, not because of gameplay, but because of the story. I simply like games with story. And Metal Gear has one of the best stories out there.

It's not that it was difficult, it was just a serious break in the flow of gameplay constantly changing your camo

sure, you didn't have to, but there isn't any reason not to, even while being pursued

I liked that in MGS4 you got the digicamo or whatever, seemed like an acknowledgement of that break, and a step forward for the series

I didn't mind the change in camo feature manually but I did like the auto Octocamo feature. Either way, it worked for me.

I couldn't agree more. I mean the whole story can seem so real (besides the bosses of MGS3). But at some point, the world could be over run by controlled information. And censorship is just the beginning.

Just beat MGS3 of the HD Collection. I plan on going in order so MGS Peace Walker is next (I don't have Portable Ops, sorry).

I liked the Ac!d games a lot. I wish I still had a working PSP so I could play them. Don't particularly like any of the other games.

I've never played the Ac!d games. I had interest in them though.

Same here! Though I like all of them equally the same as I've played them numerous times over and over. I'm replaying Peace Walker currently. :)
