I understand your point, and I know you are not taking any shots. I think it would be easier to not feel empathy towards terrible things like that. I do know that they happen, and there is nothing I can do to stop it. However, when I do dwell on it, I cannot help but feel saddened by the state of the world and my inability to change it. If only my emotions were controllable.
