#28016 Just a reminder

Posted by SpleenBeGone on 01 November 2012 - 05:02 AM

It is not ok to insult other members.
It is not ok to insult a race.
It is not ok to insult a sexual orientation.
It is not ok to hate someone because they are different than you.

If anyone is caught doing this, they will be banned permanently. If they try to re register, that name will be banned. If their children register, they will be banned. If their grandchildren register, they will be banned.

I do not mind discussions, debates, and the occasional quibble, but from this point on, but I absolutely will not tolerate swath hatred.

After ages of confinement in my old sketchbooks, I finally hanged some of my works on the wall and took a selfie with them ;)

See if you can recognize yourself. I tried to sketch anyone I've interracted with, but I may've left out someone or other. If I've forgotten you, just say so and I'll post a scribble for ya. These are my mental images of you guys, some based off of avatars, some from names, and some are also influenced by each person's behavior.
You guys have been really cool to me so far, and damn, I feel like you could be family to me if I stick around long enough. Thanks, you impertinent heart thieves. Happy yule, merry christmas, and all that good shit.

Anyone else playing? I got a Wii U just for this game (also a couple others but this one sparked me getting one) and I'm loving it so much, it's a lot of fun. I love the feeling of the whole game as well, it seems like something that should have been done a long time ago but never was until now.

Also Ika Musume's getting in on it: http://nintendoevery...ration-costume/

#94905 The Effing Dutton Library Book Sale

Posted by Affray on 26 August 2015 - 01:29 AM

I went to the book sale at my town library and kicked some ass the other day.

I plan on going back, but my first excellent haul consists of the following:

Dreamcather-Stephen King

Atlas Shrugged-Ayn Rand

A Farewell To Arms- Ernest Hemingway

Nightfall-Isaac Asimov & Robert Silverberg

Drowned In Thunder (A Spiderman novel)-Chris Bennett

The Illustrated Complete Works of Sherlock Holmes-Arthur Conan Doyle

And finally, 18 Agatha Christie books, all of which have two stories in them.

All said and done, I spent $11.

#93066 Heroes of the Storm

So, I like Sylv and she's a ranged specialist, and I'm pretty good with her.
I like Tyrael and he's a melee warrior, and I'm pretty ok with him.

I don't like healing, but that doesn't surprise me, I didn't care for it in wow either..

So what other types of roles are there?

I'd like to find one of each I really enjoy and try to get decent with all of them.

Well the 4 main roles are Assassin, Warrior, Support and Specialist

Assassins specialize in doing alot of damage really fast. They're a good source of DPS, but not to be confused with you /only/ source of DPS. While they are squishy and they do alot of damage, many other roles can still dish out as much damage as them over the course of a game, just not as quickly.

Warriors are your tanks, more or less. They specialize in taking alot of damage while still being a very real threat for the opposing team. As a warrior, your going to want to try to zone the opponents with your presence: A lone assassin probably can't kill you before you kill them, so you can be a bully in alot of situations and just scare people away from objectives until they regroup with their team. Once you're with your team, you're going to want to make sure that your key teamfighters, Assassins and Supports, stay alive and can do their job, while trying to disrupt the enemy's key teamfighters with your imposing presense.

Supports... Supports are basically just healers. They can dish out some damage, but most of them shine in healing through it. Healers like Lili and Brightwing specialize in being a passive healer, staying back in teamfights to spam their heal, while others like Rehgar and Uther are front-line fighters, being pseudo-warriors thanks to self-healing, they can heal the team while still threatening key enemy targets.

Specialists are kinda all over the place. The one thing most of them have in common, though, is that if you leave one in lane by themselves for too long, you're gonna have a bad time. Specialist is the kinda catchall category for heroes who don't fit comfortable in the above categories, think Murky or Lost vikings, and also heroes that can fill various roles depending on builds, aka sylvanas and Azmodan. Specialists usually have weird, disjointed kits that you just gotta try to figure out. Notable examples are Gazlowe, who can build specifically to clear the jungle camps, Abathur, the playable buff, and Murky, the constant lane pusher.

Even with the categories, the champions seem to be all over the place. Sylvanas isn't an assassin, but she can dish out alot of damage pretty quickly with the right builds. Malph is a support, but if you build into his W he suddenly becomes massive DPS with a side of heals. Thrall's an assassin, and definitely does assassin damage, but his play style is alot more like a Warrior's, running into the enemy team and just being a hard to deal with threat. It's all really about trying everyone out, seeing who you like and who you don't like.

and Nova. Everyone loves to play Nova

They usually end up marrying body pillows.

#90233 Final Fantasy Record Keeper

I was shown this game Sunday by our local koala. Basically you redo battles from all of the Final Fantasy titles, and as you go you unlock characters from each. You can have parties made up of characters across all of the games, which makes things pretty interesting.

It's a freemium game, but so far that hasn't been an issue.

For all the motivation to go talk to my crush. You all were right, nothing bad can come from trying. ^.^ We hung out the entire gym period and laughed and stuff and then walked together to our next class periods.
It was really great and we are now gym buddies. ^.^
