I hate animal news stories like this. So disheartening.

Seriously. I can't watch Animal Cops. I had to stop after the episode of the dog chained under the porch with 100+ ticks on him that was nearly bled to death. I was like fuck it, I'm done.

After reading the article and the top comments on the link I can surmise that the guy was not without guilt. He knew what he was doing and probably hated himself for it but he did it anyways. Don't get me wrong, I'm not approving or excusing his actions. I agree. There are a lot of people - even like this - that shouldn't be near animals or allowed to take on that responsibility. So he did a prayer for the animal and actually left it at an animal hospital, cold weather or not, he brought it to the right place. He's not AS bad as people who dump them in forests and drive off. Still doesn't excuse abandonment.

I understand health care for both animals and humans is not cheap. I've seen animal hospital bills hit thousands in no time flat. Still, you took on the responsibility of caring for an animal it's your duty to TRY everything. I only had one cat that got life-threatening sick. I brought her in and they suggested putting her down almost immediately. I said, no, what are my options. They said for $500 we can try this and that and send her back home with this medicine.

Sold.

When I got home with my Spazzy I laid in bed and put a towel on my chest (she was spitting some weird pus, I think she had a respiratory infection) and gave her that medicine and she was so at home I think TLC literally cured her. She went on to live a couple more years before dying to some other type of infection (that's my assumption). She was an outdoor cat (the last one I allowed to go outside) who hunted and got into fights. She loved humans, hated all other animals. She chased a full grown dog once dude, I was like HOLY FUCKING SHE-HULK CAT. I don't know if I got lucky with only spending $500 but it was well worth it.

Just last year, my sister, the turtle lover, had to get surgery for one of her babies. They fought and one's eye got scratched off. It costed $400 and she was dead broke. She posted to Facebook and even offered to volunteer at the shelter. Someone down at the shelter heard her cry for help and community donations paid for the whole operation. Help isn't far away. She was willing to try everything.

According to that article the medical bills for that dog were close to $20,000 in probably what would have been far less if it were not abandoned and its conditions worsened. Still...community animal lovers chipped in. Where one man gave up, many did not. Help like that may not always be possible but did he try? No.

So fuck him.

Not without guilt?

He tied an elderly dog up alone outside and made the figure of the cross.

He was a fucking wanker.

What makes me horribly sad about stories like these are when it's an animal that has suffered for years and years at the hands of someone who couldn't give two shits. Or like in this case, an elderly dog who should spend the rest of his days being cuddled and petted and napping in the sunshine and eating well being taken care of by someone who absolutely adores him.

Fuck. That. Guy.

And his God he feels will save everything he decides to dispose of cause of inconvenience.

What a shit head.

I...I kind of want to know about the lady.

Oh man, no..

There's this one story I put up on twitter.

The dog was outside for ten years on a chain.

This person had come and slowly socialized it for three years before finally just going up to the owner and demanding the dog.

The owner laughed at them.

Laughed.

I never wanted to strangle someone so bad through the computer before in my life and I survived Barrens chat and IB.

Ten fucking years that dog suffered before he was finally free.

That one breaks me every time.

I wish. I was in a ts with a buddy and she was like "Did you hear about the chick who used her pug as a weapon?"

That's a question that you can't just ignore

people need to stop breeding pugs or start breeding them with better genetics.

Poor things already suffer from a myriad of health problems and terrible genetics/inbreeding.

Like the fact that their breathing sounds labored even while they're sleeping?

Yeah, pugs kinda freak me out

Proceed with caution, tears will happen.
