It's amazing but I wish the protagonist wasn't an FPSer. I hate the implication that the jocks of the video game world, the cool kids, are the FPSers.

I think it was The Street Fighter that got me excited about youtube webseries.

I guess it fit with the context of the story.

Besides I think they we're cashing in on the Call of Duty Craze.  ;)

Well isn't that how it is in real life? Generally the people who play FPS games are dude bros.

They could have gone with any popular multiplayer genre. DOTA, Starcraft, WoW, GTA, Saints Row, bloody Minecraft. Any of those would have been preferable.  Or maybe a better FPS type game as the base. Like the only amazing one, "Painkiller."

FPS games are still the Football of the American world. It makes sense to have that as the sport everyone cares about the most because if eSport did get popular in the mainstream world they would likely be the most popular.

You are coming at the issue from a minority standpoint, and while I agree with you that I enjoy things like LoL and Starcraft better, FPS makes more sense in the context of the story.

Just imagine it. The Dean would teach the class. Because it's the guy from Epic Meal Time.

That would actually make a funny plot for the last season:  The drifters have to deal with the sandbox crime game players jacking their rides.

I know it's popular, FPS, but so are mobile microtransactions fee-to-play games. We didn't see a Candy Crush analogue.
