Recommend some games with female lead characters

I've been wanting some games with female lead characters that actually have a story and such & if it's an rpg I'd prefer it wasn't something where there's not really any difference whether the character's male or female.
I also don't like when the character's a mute.....and I suck at shooters.
Anyway, we've got a ps3 that's mostly being used to watch movies & an xbox that, really isn't being used for much of anything, & I could probably highjack a computer if there's something ubber awesome that's only on pc.
Some games I've liked recently:
The Tomb Raider remake
Dragon Age 2 (just cuz all the dialogues & acting were awesome & the Aveline romance was epic)
I would have liked Final Fantasy 13(?) part 2, but I swear to god both the sisters were so annoying to listen to that I couldn't finish it. That's the only Final Fantasy I've played.
There's a zombie game in the Playstation store about a lady & a little girl, but it's more of a puzzle game, & some of you might not be surprised that I'm not great at puzzles. So I didn't make it very far on that one. <.<
That's all I can think of right now.

I've heard of Mirror's Edge but the only thing I now about it is that you run around a lot.

There aren't any. Go watch the Jimquisition, it will turn your opinions on the industry upside-down, round and round.
Ask for my discord/Insta/Tumblr if you want.

FF6 is pretty good, and Terra is the lead character there. Granted it's old, but still.

I don't play enough games to have opinions about the industry. I just like when it has a story & when the characters don't stand there like mannequins (I have no idea if that's how you spell that & I'm not looking it up right now to check). There aren't any. Go watch the Jimquisition, it will turn your opinions on the industry upside-down, round and round.

Someone told me about that being good.FF6 is pretty good, and Terra is the lead character there. Granted it's old, but still.
But I suppose I am, as someone put it, spoiled when it comes to graphics.
(give me a break...I more or less skipped strait from cartridge consoles to next gen. :| )

I like Valkyria Chronicles. I've played the first two games (third never released here) along with watching the anime.

I'm not buying even more stuff to play games on. It'd probably just mostly sit around collecting dust like the xbox.

Beyond: Two Souls. Ellen Page as the Lead Character. Haven't played it yet but want to.
Metroid. I love all of the games!
Assassin's Creed: Liberation. If you are into Assassin's Creed games like I am.
Pre-4 Resident Evil Games. Dated but fun.
Gravity Rush. Vita game that I have heard is very good.
Bloodrayne. I thoroughly enjoyed these games on the PS2.
Alice: Madness Returns. Fun hack/slash-ish game.
WET. Main character looks super cool and I actually enjoyed it more than I thought I would.
There are plenty more but that's all I can think of now...

Despite your vague description & the main character being female, I'm going to assume it's not the same genre I'm thinking of. >.>

It is basically what would happen if Quentin Tarantino made a video game.
It is pretty decent.
It is perfectly acceptable to fear and admire a being you could not possibly understand.

Mirrors Edge is an awesome game, basically your job is to run messages and avoid getting killed through a dystopian society. Also, the cut scenes are an awesome anime style.
Perfect Dark is great, but it of course a dated shooter.
Pokemon? >.>

I'm currently playing the 2013 reboot of Tomb Raider, that has one of the most widely recognized female lead characters of any video game franchise

In the original Portal the two main characters are female and while the players character doesn't really speak you see her a lot through portal and GLaDOS speaks a lot, so maybe it balances out the silent protagonist?
From the same company there is Left 4 Dead 1 & 2, each has a female character you can pick and who will speak during the game. Of course that is a shooter.
In League of Legends there are plenty of female character you can pick from.
It's sad that they are so hard to come up with. It would be nice too see some more strong female characters.
I've heard Beyond Good and Evil is really good, never played it though.
