Kudos on the viable topic.
Three way tie.
Wolverine=Nightcrawler=Beast
Claws (metal or bone) and an amazing healing factor are really appealing to me for oh so many reasons.
Short range teleportation, a prehensile tail and blue fur would also be pretty slick.
Blue fur, again, and a massive boost to intellect and physical prowess would make for a pretty interesting time as well.
It is perfectly acceptable to fear and admire a being you could not possibly understand.

I always liked Wolverine, then he became popular and I felt strange about choosing him when everyone else in the group did as well. Then I loved Deadpool, and somehow, he became popular. (People didn't even know him when I was in middle school and the awesome spiderman/deadpool crossover went down. Blind Al as aunt May? Hell yeah)
So I'm gonna say Hepzibah, cuz she kinda looks like a catgirl.
Also, the one where Nightcrawler, Kitty, and Wolverine fight Dracula is my favorite Nightcrawler story ever. It was oddly original, despite the obvious irony of a Dracula cameo.
My first novel, Seeds of Magic- Barnes & Noble, Smashwords, Kobo, Sony Store

In the Xmen cartoon there was a background character who turned into a dog when someone threw him a frisbee
He probably has no name, nor any impact on the Xmen series whatsoever
But he's my favorite.

I dunno, i've always been a big fan of gambit... he's that awesome magician you wanted at every party, instead of that failed one who always lost his rabbit..

There's so many good ones because there's just so many different X-Men.
I like to go by powers, so I think I'll go with obscure but awesome: Ink.

I had a coworker who was/is in love with Wolverine. He would go on for hours about his backstory if you let him.
And then I have another former coworker who worships Supes.
Maybe I should invite them here...
As for me? I don't know much about anyone, but my friend's love for Beast was pretty convincing. The fact that "Oh my stars and garters" is in his frequently-used vernacular is endearing to the point of overwhelming.

My favorite is Gambit just because he's kind of an immoral hero which I think is really interesting and sets him apart from most of the X-Men team. I'm also a big fan of Apocalypse because I love big bad villains.

Probably Gambit. Since he has been said I'll go with Magneto. Witty, determined, strong as shit. Could kill pretty much every mutant instantly when coming into contact with them but "knows" that homo-sapiens are the "weak link" at least he is sticking to his guns.

It's a three-way tie for me: Gambit, Deadpool and Juggernaut
If I had a world of my own, everything would be nonsense, nothing would be what it is because everything would be what it isn't, and contrary wise; What it is it wouldn't be and what it wouldn't be it would. You see?

Mystique. I think she is an awesome example of everything a strong female character should be. She's fiercely independent in her attitude and can kick some serious ass and yet these attributes aren't so overwhelming that she comes across as under-feminized who is only strong because she acts like a man. It makes me sad when I see people (especially writers) who seem to think that a strong female character means associating them with macho attributes. A strong female character is made up of all the stuff that makes any other strong character. It's just that she has lady parts.
Besides. I would love to have her powers. She has the ability to just hide from the world whenever she feels like it. And I loved her character in the movies (before First Class).
And then there's Rogue, Magneto, Nightcrawler and Angel. Among others.

Beast was always my favoirte. I loved how polarizing his charachter is and his struggle to accept who he is I think makes his a very interesting person.
"Ironic, isn't it, Smithers. This anonymous clan of slack-jawed troglodytes has cost me the election, and yet if I were to have them killed, I would be the one to go to jail. That's democracy for you."

To be 100% honest with you I always tended to favor the villains. They are the plotters. Always looked cooler too.
My personal favorites were Omega Red and Sabretooth. I didn't care much for the movie adaption to Sabretooth BUT the actor they chose second time around was pretty decent.

I've always really sympathized with Magneto.
Also, I always thought he was kind of neat-o!
