Is there a theme or is it just anything?
Submitted designs can be absolutely anything that you think would make a sweet patch.
As stated in the contest thread, pornographic stuff is a no-no.
Not because I am a prude, but because I can`t really sell that sort of thing in my Etsy shop.
Just so everyone knows, I fully endorse this.
That being said, Nerd Forum themed stuff is more than welcome.

I'll whip something up. Will probably have something to do with cats. Or catgirls. Or ramen. Likely a combination of the three.
Are there any specifications to the image? Size, format, ect?
Jpegs are fine, pretty much whatever you can post in the contest thread I should be able to save and use.
Size does not matter, though super tiny images make it tougher to digitize.
Super large is better than super tiny.
Also, just incase anyone is wondering, submitted designs do not be to computer generated.
I have created patches and embroidered designs from pencil drawing people have brought in to my shop.
I once made a scouts badge from a pencil crayon drawing done my a little girl.
So, pretty much anything goes.

So, since this is a contest, would there be a prize of some sort?
There are two prized of sorts.
The first prize is that your artwork will help contribute to the forum in a financial sense.
As not many people are able to pour their hard-earned funds directly in to the forum, this is a way for everyone to contribute something small which I can turn around and sell in my Etsy shop.
The profits from which would then be donated to the forum.
If some money is trickling in, then Spleen could spend it on things to benefit this place and make it better all round for every member.
So your prize in that respect is knowing that you have aided in boosting our beloved forum a few notches higher on the awesome scale.
In a more tangible sense of the term prize, the winner of each bi-weekly contest will be mailed one patch of their design free of any charge (production, postage, etc), and also be credited in my shop as the designer of said patch. Which I think is a pretty damn cool prize.
Though the purpose of this repeat contest of mine is to pull some funds in to Nerd Forum, I still think it is a good idea to reward the winning designer with a patch, and the free publicity for everyone is good also.

Fantastic. I might be able to whip something up if I have the time. So, when is this due?

This current contest I have already opened, and will be closing it on Friday March 1st.
Then wait a week to open the next one.
I am hoping that people really jump on the bandwagon here and I have enough entries to create a patch at the end of every contest period and get it listed in my shop.

But in all seriousness, I'll try my best to submit something nice before March 1st.

I think this is a great idea. But as I said, I may do something if I have the time. Right now I've got a lot of things going on. College projects, commissions, working on the comic with Gotha, a gift drawing, and penis. I have a lot of penis to do.
But in all seriousness, I'll try my best to submit something nice before March 1st.
That would be sweet.
Also, if anyone has any old drawings or artwork sitting around, enter that shit too.
Who knows, it might score you a win.

Plus we have a few new people that may not know about it.
There is only one weeek left until the contest is closed.

Pretty mush whatever cool thing you want.
A lot of the stuff I sell in my shop is from old cartoons, or awesome ones, or video games.
So anything inspired by those things would work, and probably sell fairly well.

Ponies. Will you accept ponies?
I accept everything.
Though I would rather eat a pony than ride it/adore it, I will most certainly sell them.
People would most likely buy that sort of thing too.
If you like it, the rest of the internet probably does as well.
Also, I already made a my little pony patch for a friend of my woman's and it turned out well.
