The hell is flappy bird

First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out-- Because I was not a Socialist.

Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out-- Because I was not a Trade Unionist.

Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out-- Because I was not a Jew.

Then they came for me-- and there was no one left to speak for me.

Simplicity, ease of access and people hyping it up is what makes it so addictive.

People can't help but play and then play some more.

It is perfectly acceptable to fear and admire a being you could not possibly understand.

Oh my god flappy bird.

I don't find it addicting at all but like, I showed it to a couple of my classmates Monday, and they were GLUED to it. And it started to spread, and then suddenly everyone had to beat the class high score (which was like 113). We started talking about comparing flappy bird scores in job interviews and first dates. It was like that episode of star trek with the eye thing. One guy came up to me later and sarcastically said "thanks for ruining my day with this game". Some had to forcibly remove it from their phone to get work done.

 It was unnerving.

Oh, and I got to 13 on my first try. I don't get why people say its so hard and they can't get past 4 or whatever low number it is for them.

I don't see how it's so hard. People are raging at the game because they can't get past one. :P

It is! I don't know why. It really shouldn't be that hard. It's such an unforgiving game.

What kind of phone are you playing it on? my sister pointed out that she finds it easier on my phone (galaxy note 2) than on her iphone 4 because the screen is larger says she.

Oh my God I loved that game! I was a boss at it too.

You'll have to take some lessons from the flappy bird master. *flexes thumb muscles*

Flappy Bird is like an simpler, easier, and condensed version of an NES game. Hard games are satisfying because they provide an easily achievable sense of accomplishment, because they provide a challenge overcoming them releases endorphins when completed.

The effect won't work for games who play hard games normally as Flappy Bird is designed for the non-gaming community, thus its achievements which may seem vast to an iPhone gamer are not as vast to someone who has say beat Battletoads, as their brain is used to overcoming greater challenges.

It's basically like drugs, if you give a cocaine user caffeine they are likely to complain and claim it is worthless, however, if you give caffeine to someone who has no experience with drugs they are likely to find the experience worthwhile.

tl;dr

Flappy Bird is hard games lite.

Simplicity + Competitive= Profit. Bit obvious isn't it?

I don't wanna download that game because it would be too easy and I am competitive, I would probably try to have 10 times as much as anyone elses score. Some friends showed me a game called "the worlds hardest game" and they got to lvl 6 or something. Since I'm competitive I spent quite a bit of time on it and now I can pretty much beat the game in half an hour if I wanted to. Example being: http://nerdforum.org...on=play&game=52

I beat the game an hour after spleen actually put it on there xD

I'm competitive but I will try avoiding useless simple things like these games.Wasted too much time on them. I would have more fun coding them instead.

WHY IS IT SO ADDICTING

Overall simplicity mixed with finger-breaking difficulty by way of reflexes and eyeballin' it.
